My name is Lorna and I specialise in Newborn Photography Sydney. Here you’ll find all the information you need for your photoshoot.
Newborn babies are best photographed when they’re around one to two weeks old as they’re still very sleepy and we can easily move them into those adorable poses that we love. The best time to book your photoshoot is while you’re still pregnant. Yes! All newborn shoots include family and sibling photos. My home studio is located in Engadine in the Sutherland Shire. Allow 2-4 hours. This gives us plenty of time for those unexpected delays that crop up with babies – feeding, cuddling, and set up changes. Yes, absolutely we can! Maternity shoots can be booked on their own or you can book a Maternity and Newborn shoot together for a special discounted price. There is no right or wrong age to photograph a baby as you can have pictures done at any age, however to achieve this very specific style, my recommendation is around one to two weeks old. Yes, I have a small wardrobe available with a variety of dresses all in medium size. Some of the dresses can stretch or can be pinned in if too big.
A tentative booking will be made for around two weeks after your due date. If your baby arrives arrives a little early or a little late, we simply adjust your booking date accordingly.
I’m usually booked out a few months in advance so getting your booking in while you’re still pregnant is ideal to avoid missing out. However, if you’ve just had your baby I’ll do my best to squeeze you in as I know how precious those first few weeks are.
Maternity shoots are best done when you’re around 30-35 weeks pregnant and I prefer to do these sessions outdoors at sunset time.

Although, I have photographed babies who were up to four weeks old with great success, but it’s not a guarantee as it all depends on how your baby’s feeling on the day. If you’re not sure, give me a call and I’d be happy to help you.
